Our Philosophy

A million plastic bottles are bought around the world every minute and the number will jump another 20% by 2024. Abandoned plastic fishing nets are a significant part of the problem. Resulting in the entrapment and death of marine mammals, sea birds, and fish.

Upcycling Time!

We want to inspire a sustainable and conscious lifestyle with a product that will both last for years to come as well as educate us of the power and relevance of recycling, helping us save the environment one step at a time.

When realizing the great social impact, we could have when we started recycling cotton: manufacturing towels, blankets, bathrobes, and ponchos. It was after receiving great feedback, that we decided to explore new materials and processes to up-cycle. Naturally this led us to complete our beach line. After researching the vast array of plastics that contaminate our oceans and environment, such as fishing nets and single-use plastics, we established which waste could be reduced and recycled into new products.

The most exciting result of this process is the high-quality fabric we can manufacture. Ultra-soft, durable, water repellent and bi-stretch, for a better and more comfortable fit.

Beach shorts/trunks manufactured using 100% recycled plastics and an eco-friendly printing process. We pay attention to every little detail, from the fabric to the design inspired by travel, all the while keeping a keen eye on the latest fashion trends. This is how La Palma Beachwear was born. Annual consumption of plastic bottles is set to top half a trillion by 2021, far outstripping recycling efforts and jeopardizing oceans, coastlines and other environments.

The Process

Our process has a positive impact on the environment by reducing our energy consumption up to 92%. Furthermore, a 72% reduction of CO2 emissions when compared with virgin resin production. We also help to generate more than 2800 jobs for the local community.
